Five new models feature USB connectivity, Android and iPhone music control, Spanish menu

LAS VEGAS – January 6, 2016 (MEDIAWIRE) – JVC Mobile, worldwide provider of audio/visual entertainment products for the vehicle, announced that all five of its new-for-2016 entry-level CD receivers are available and shipping. Common features among the units include 12 equalizer presets along with a three-band parametric equalizer, and connectivity with existing steering wheel controls. The detachable face of each model includes brightness and dimmer control, and all menus can be displayed in English or Spanish.

The KD-R370 (MSRP $89.95) replaces last year’s KD-R330 to provide end users with a budget-friendly receiver that allows playback of music from any portable device, thanks to its 1/8-inch auxiliary input on the radio face. A single set of RCA outputs allows connection of an external amplifier, and the output can be configured to provide full-range sound or bass with the built-in low-pass filter.

The next level of receivers adds a wireless remote control and a front-facing USB port to allow connection and one-amp charging of a smartphone, or plugging in USB flash memory. Each of these three units can play music encoded with FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) to get the best possible sound from compressed digital music. The KD-R470 (MSRP $94.95) and KD-R570 (MSRP $104.95) feature built-in control of music played from an attached Android™-based smartphone, with the latter adding variable illumination to match the vehicle’s dash lighting. The KD-R670 (MSRP $99.95) adds to this with built-in control of music played from an attached iPhone®, as well as the ability to add two amplifiers with two sets of 2.5-volt RCA outputs.

Stepping up to the KD-R775S (MSRP $119.95) adds a third set of RCA outputs for a front / rear / subwoofer system configuration, and pushes the RCA output voltage up to 4.8. Illumination is also enhanced with the ability to select different colors in three different areas of the radio face. Through a connected iPhone, users can control music selections including iHeartRadio™ and Pandora® from the receiver’s built-in interface. In addition, it is SiriusXM-Ready™ and connects to the latest SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, subscription required).

“In today’s vehicle entertainment systems, connectivity is vital, no matter the price point,” said Hazim Jainoor, JVC Mobile marketing manager. “Our different levels of receivers give users the option of plug-in simplicity or immersive music control through the receiver. We’re pleased to have shipped these and more units prior to the holiday season, and to present the entire 2016 line at CES.”
