Expert sessions to deliver combined sales, installation instruction

WILSONVILLE, ORE. – March 10, 2014 (SDG MEDIAWIRE) – Benchmark Trainings, the newly formed collaboration of the mobile electronics industry’s premier sales trainer and the current Installer of the Year, announced the schedule for its 2014 Nucleus training sessions, which will be held in Wilsonville, Ore. Nucleus trainings will provide attendees with a unique mix of top-level installation techniques and high-impact sales instruction.

Benchmark Trainings was founded by Jason Kranitz and Del Ellis, both veterans of the mobile electronics industry. Kranitz established himself as a premier installation technician and fabricator before opening his own store, Kingpin Car Audio, in Wilsonville in 2006. In addition to running the facility alongside General Manager Brent Hunter, Kranitz also serves as primary customizer while training and mentoring a staff of four installation technicians. In 2013, he was named Installer of the Year by Mobile Electronics magazine through voting by peers and industry advocates.

The upcoming Nucleus training sessions will be held April 5-7, June 7-9, and September 13-15, all at the Kingpin Car Audio facility, with staff serving as additional instructors and helpers.

Del Ellis is an accomplished sales trainer and former retail store owner. His “Sell Like a Carnivore” training regimen teaches sales professionals how to leverage every customer interaction to get them into the store, and close them at superior margins once they get there. Ellis has trained groups and staffs on location across the country, and his seminars at the annual KnowledgeFest—an industry-focused trade show and education conference put on by the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA)—are filled to capacity. Ellis recently completed a session in Australia, where he trained professionals from more than 50 locations over a three-day period.

The upcoming Nucleus three-day sessions comprise two groups of attendees that will switch between sales and installation training. Sales techniques taught will include getting customers off the phone and into the store without disclosing pricing, selling the store’s brand as opposed to product brands, and using rapport to increase average ticket amounts. Installation sessions include time-saving techniques on fabrication projects, building better-sounding subwoofer enclosures, and using testing equipment to prevent installation errors.

“With Nucleus trainings, we want to deliver a high-value experience that encompasses the two most important elements of profitability in the store,” said Ellis. “Being able to bring customers in and sell them quality, profitable product that exceeds their expectations is absolutely critical. In addition, installing the equipment in a way that gives them a personalized, enjoyable in-car experience day after day is what creates the long-lasting impression that gets them to come back.”

Benchmark Trainings will also at-location Nucleus sessions for individual stores or groups of stores. For more information on upcoming sessions, call Jason Kranitz at (503) 582-1315 or Del Ellis at (559) 259-2932.
